Unfortunately Arduino 2.0 is not fully compatible with the ESP32/ESP8266 at the moment. Some libraries will not work with Arduino 2.0. Arduino IDE is meant for Arduino boards , so the ESP32 community still needs to update the libraries and extensions to work properly with 2.0.

As soon as all features are compatible, I’ll be migrating and recommending Arduino 2.0.

For now, I strongly recommend using Arduino IDE 1.8.19 to ensure everything works in all your ESP projects.
