Arduino IDE Installation

In your tutorials you state that java needs to be installed before one installs the Arduino IDE. I understand that V1.x of the software used java and java was installed along with the IDE. On the other hand, V2 of the IDE appears to not use java at all. Thus my question, why install java prior to installing the Arduino IDE?

Hi.
You’re right. No need to install Java on the latest version of Arduino IDE.
I need to update that section of the eBook.

I’m sorry for the issue

Sara
