Have had the Arduino installed in my computer for quite some time, have updated it with newer versions and different libraries. I am not sure that my filesystem is actually correct , or my installation is correct.
For instance , when trying to add the EsplittleFs  I have to find my installation directory, I really don’t have a separate Arduino folder where all the files are stored. I tried to install the littleFs in the tools directory so to make sure it was going to the right area I went to Files,Preferences and found sketchbook location which in turn shows C;|Users|HP\Documents|libraries.
Then I found that there were no tools directory so I made one and dumped the extracted littleFs file in that directory , restarted Arduino but it does not show the littleFs in the tools drop down box. My thought is that my directories are not in the correct order. I thought of just going to Add/Remove programs and then reinstalling the Arduino program but I don’t believe it would do a clean install and still have a mess.  Any help would be appreciated.

Hi.
What is the installation of Arduino IDE that you have?
It should be via the .ZIP folder with all the Arduino IDE files inside a folder. The tools folder should already be there. I’m not sure if it works with the method you used.
So, you may need to install the Arduino IDE via a .ZIP file: https://www.arduino.cc/en/software

So it look’s as though I have to downgrade my Arduino IDE program, using the 2.0 Beta program, it doesn’t have a Toold directory.

Yes.
Unfortunately, I don’t think the plugin is available for Arduino 2.0.
