HI . I just wanted to post that I found what was wrong with my camera module. It works if I power it from external 5v into 5v connection on camera module. If I try to run it from the rs232 module it sends the “brownout error”

I found this answer out from another forum who were also having problems with their camera modules.

well that’s a relief . . excellent or what!!!

Hello! Thanks for letting me know!

Unfortunately I’ve never encountered that issue, but I’m aware that a lot of readers are experiencing it. I’ll be updating the projects with that note and I’ll even create a dedicated ESP32-CAM Troubleshooting guide for these projects:

  • ESP32-CAM Video Streaming and Face Recognition with Arduino IDE
  • ESP32-CAM Video Streaming Web Server

Thanks again!

Regards,
Rui

Hi . . There is another “Gotcha” . and that is the “facial recognition” does not work with the 1.2 version of the esp32 boards lib . you have to make sure it’s 1.1 . .  cheers . . it’s all working now.
