hello, Rui and Sara ! hope you people doing well I have an issue when I uploading my program all things work fine my web server is running fine video appears and then disappear and the error “camera_init(): Failed to set frame size and Camera init failed with error 0x20002” shows and nothing happens even when i restart same error appears.

Hi.

I’m sorry you’re facing that issue.

Many times it is caused by a power issue or a wire that is not well connected.

If you’re using a USB hub connected to your computer without an external power source, it can be the issue. Try to connect directly to an USB port on your computer. Other times, the USB port can’t provide enough power and you’ll get that and other issues.

Sometimes, powering the ESP32-CAM with 5V instead of 3.3V can solve the issue.

If the ESP32-CAM is connected to the computer with a very long cable, that can also cause the issue.

Also, make sure that the camera is relatively close to your router if it doesn’t have an external antenna.

Let me know if you were able to solve the problem.

Yesterday, I was facing a similar problem, and found out it was a bad jumper wire.

Hello SARA.
thanks for reply
first of all it is not power issue because i am using external power supply having 2amps current rating
i am already using 5V pin as vcc
my esp is connected with very short and good quality cable
my esp is very close to my router
still my problem is unsolved.
all jumper wires are new and healthy

Hi again.

Can you tell me where you bought the camera (a link for the product?) and the camera model (should be printed on the ribbon)?

Some of our readers with cameras bought from Aliexpress had had some similar issues. But I’m not sure what the problem really is. https://www.reddit.com/r/esp32/comments/dwoysq/esp32cam_camera_problem/

It can be either a wrong pin definition or the camera probe is defective or broken.

Hi.
Unfortunately, for what I can find, your camera is probably broken (not the board), but I can’t be sure.
I’ve never had such problem.
You can buy just the camera separately.
I couldn’t find any more details about this subject.
