following the instructions of Rui Santos, installing esp32, I get next answer at the end, by testing.
Compilation error: exec: “python”: executable file not found in $PATH

Do you have Python 3 installed on your computer?

Hi,
I don’t know if my last message have received you Sara (answer on your questions are, iOS Ventura 13.2.1 and python was already installed ) but Sara, may be this will help. I performed the procedure on another MacBook Pro. And there it works. !!
By the way, entering data in ‘Additional board manager’ (on MacBooks)differs from that described and the window has a different appearance.
Entering Through; Arduino IDE>preferences>Additional board manager
Data of Macbook working;
No python installed
Operating system Os Catalina version 10.15.7
Tools, settings are;
Board: DOIT ESP32 DEVKIT V1
Port.: “/dev/cu./SLAB_USBtoUART”
What is wrong ?

Sara I just installed an update of Arduino that popped up, the problem has disappeared now !!
