Hi Sara, I have obtained a domain from GoDaddy which is active now. I followed the procedure in the unit 9.1 from the Smart_home_Raspberry_PI_ESP32… to create a tunnel through Cloudflare but I keep having this message:
Error: An A, AAAA, or CNAME record with that host already exists. For more details, refer to <https://developers.cloudflare.com/dns/manage-dns-records/troubleshooting/records-with-same-name/>.
Do you have any idea what went wrong?
Thanks in advance
Hi.
Did you remove the nameservers on Godaddy as shown on the printscreen on page 190? You need to actually go to your Godaddy account and remove the nameservers, so that you can insert them on Cloudflare.
Can you tell me your domain name? I will be able to see if the nameservers are removed from Godaddy.
Regards,
Sara
My Domain name is gabode.ca
The old nameserver were:
ns37.domaincontrol.com
ns38.domaincontrol.com
Thanks for your support.

The domain name servers are properly set to cloudflare already. In which exact step do you get that error message?
“Error: An A, AAAA, or CNAME record with that host already exists”
In which page of the Smart Home eBook?
When i type in : “https://nodered.gabode.ca” in my browser,
here is what I get:
_______________________________________________________
Error 1033

Argo Tunnel error
What happened?
You’ve requested a page on a website (nodered.gabode.ca) that is on the Cloudflare network. The host (nodered.gabode.ca) is configured as an Argo Tunnel, and Cloudflare is currently unable to resolve it.
What can I do?
If you are a visitor of this website:
Please try again in a few minutes.
If you are the owner of this website:
Ensure that cloudflared is running and can reach the network. You may wish to enable load balancing for your tunnel.

Do I miss something?
I did not install InfluxDB. I’m interested to read NODERED only.
First attempt was with the wrong nameservers. (page 390)
Afterward, I manage to get valid nameservers.
I wanted to reset it with the right nameservers but it looks like I could not fix it. I get the error when I want to create a tunnel.
The tunnel status I have is “healthy”…
Thanks
What happened in your Raspberry Pi when you ran the required command to have Cloudflare running?
Please take a look at page 426. Did you run the “connector” command as explained by Cloudflare?
Thanks!
I think that there is a confusion here. I’m at unit 9 to create a tunnel. I’m not setting up the cloud…
My understanding is I can reach my Domain securely from anywhere with a tunnel from Cloudflare…
I followed the steps from the book Unit 9. The first attempt I did not enter the right nameserver. I changed it and retry. Everything looked fine but when I type in “https://nodered.gabode.ca” in my browser I have the following message:

I see, but your nameservers are now properly configured.
- I was at the wrong section, I was trying to say did you run the command presented on page 393 to install the connector? Did it install properly?
- Is Node-RED running in your RPi ip address on port :1880?
- Like page 395, what do you see in your tunnes? does it say active?
- I was at the wrong section, I was trying to say did you run the command presented on page 393 to install the connector?
Yes, I did run the command.
- Did it install properly?
At the first attempt I had the message: “Linux service for cloudflared installed successfully”
When I realized that I had the wrong nameserver I uninstalled cloudflared, thinking it was the proper way to switch to the right nameserver. Ever since then I experience all kind of problems. It is like it does not want me to change the nameserver associated with gabode.ca
I do not want to create another domain…
- Is Node-RED running in your RPi ip address on port :1880?
Yes, It does run perfectly well on my browser (Google Chrome).
- Like page 395, what do you see in your tunnel? does it say active?
The tunnel status I have is “healthy”.
Hallo again! Sorry for these issues, can you please email me at:
I think I’ll need to login if you allow me in your Cloudflare account to see what might be missing, because I honestly don’t know what can me missing as it looks you are doing everything right. Maybe when you tried to re-install the Cloudflare it didn’t work correctly. Can you send me you email + password for cloudflare via email?
Thanks!
