On page 291 there’s the following procedure to display the web page.
Accessing Your Web Server
Follow the next instructions before accessing your web server:
1. Restart your ESP8266 module
2. Open a browser
3. Type the IP address that you’ve previously saved (in my case:
192.168.1.70) in the URL bar

I’m using the ESP8266 but can’t get the web page to appear. I get the “unable to connect” page when I enter the correct IP. I’m not using ESPlorer.
Any suggestions?

Is your IP address appearing in the Terminal window? What do you see in your terminal window when you try to open the web server?
thanks!

I did exactly as the text suggested.

I’ll retry after a complete restart. There’s something, in this process, that seems weird on my end.

Solution was to add :8888 to the URL.

I’m glad it’s working now. I’ll mark this thread as “resolved”, if you have more questions just let me know.
