Hi Sara, Rui,
again it was time to experiment, this time I selected the ESP-01 as I have received some in the past. Programming them under Arduino IDE was very easy with your excellent guide. Even using two LEDs connected to GPIO0 and GPIO2, driven by a remote Android pad. My idea was to create a mailbox alert via html, as soon as someone puts mail in our mailbox outside. I am still trying to find a solution to improve the WiFi signal so it cold eventually work.
However when I tried following your “Home_Automation_Using_ESP8266_V4” NodeMCU guide lines, I noticed that Esplorer reacted with rather strange error reports, but seldom identical.
Using the FTDI232 board I then was brave late at night and selected 5V to program the ESP-01. I had downloaded the Version V0.2.0-rc6 (that’s what the Version info in the extra file says). Still the top header of the Esplorer window claims it is the Version V0.2.0-rc5.
Anyway, My ESP-01 has survived. I could not use the left button “Save to ESP” so I tried the upload button, et voila, the upload was done with 115200 speed without errors. Then placing the ESP-01 in my prepared breadboard with the LED, running with again 3.3V, I achieved the anticipated goal.
Here is my question: have you heard of other friends struggling with this problem ? As it is so basic, if it doesn’t work, it will turn many people off.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts.
Kind regards

Hi Jos.
Thanks for letting me know about that.
To be honest, it’s a long time since we’ve experimented something on Esplorer, so I’m not aware of its current issues.
Until now, nobody has reported something about that. But thanks for letting me know. If someone has a similar problem, I know what to look for. Additionally, we can probably add something about that issue in the course in the next update.
Thanks once again.
Regards,
Sara
