Hello Rui, I have acquired your ESP32 course and have successfully tested many projects. Now I’m trying to realize your new project with the ESP32 webcam, which I find very fascinating.
The ESP32 webcam I have from Banggood and an FTDI adapter (YP-05) I still had here. Now my problem: The FTDI adapter is not recognized by the PC (Windows 7). So I downloaded and installed a driver from http://www.ftdichip.com/Drivers/VCP.htm.
Unfortunately, the adapter was still not recognized. Since I am not a PC expert, I ask for help.
Best regards Horst.
Hello Horst, I’ll re-publish my answer that I’ve posted on Facebook, but with a few more details that might solve your problem.
I haven’t had that problem in a long time, so to be honest I’m not able to replicate it on my end at the moment. I would probably search like this “Unbrick FTDI programmer windows 7” or “error installing drivers FTDI programmer windows 7”. I think you might be able to find the solution for that problem.
Can you try the following to see if it works for you?
Unbricking the FTDI Programmer on Windows PC
If you’re having trouble installing the FTDI drivers on Windows 7/8/8.1/10 it’s very likely that FTDI is bricked. Watch this video tutorial to fix that: http://youtu.be/SPdSKT6KdF8
In the previous video, it is said for you to download the drivers from the FTDI website. Read carefully the YouTube description to find all the links.
Here’s the drivers you need:
