Hi.
What is exactly the camera that you’re using?
Did you select the right camera in the code?
Regards,
Sara

Hi, It’s a esp32 cam using a DC2640 V3 camera. Arrived 2 days ago. Have selected Ai Thinker as the board and in the software.
I have even tried ESP Wrover module as the board and Ai thinker in the software.
I can get it to up load the software, remove the link and press the reset button, check the serial monitor. and that is what I get [E][camera.c:1113] camera_probe(): Detected camera not supported.    Have double checked the connection of the camera itself also.
Regards  Richard

Hi.
Are you sure about the camera reference?
That camera is not compatible with our tutorials.
Our tutorials are for the OV2640 camera.

Sara

Hi.

After taking a look at your picture, I went to check my boards. Not all of them have the OV2640 reference, but all work with our sketches.

So, I’m guessing that there might be something wrong with your camera. Or the camera ribbon is broken and it can’t establish a proper connection, or the camera ribbon is not connected properly. Sometimes, disconnecting the camera, cleaning the connection, and trying again might solve the issue.

Or the camera is different and is not really supported by the code.

Regards,
Sara

Thanks for your reply, Have checked the connections and all seem ok. I have another unit which I ordered as a AI Thinker but has turned up as a ESP32 S. with a MB board which is different to what they advertise, (which is like the one you suggest, has a switch for IO0 and rst) but the boards that they are sending do not have a IO0 switch.
This is very confusing, as searching for a AI Thinker esp32 with a MB board like you suggest seems impossible to find now. Have tried ebay (twice), had the same type delivered and one from Bangwood.
I am hoping to continue with the course, but as you say one needs the correct items?
Ordered another camera (fish eye) will take 2 weeks to arrive from Bangwood.
Will try it when it arrives. I am using version1.0.6 ESP lib, as 1.0.4 will not load.

Hi Richard.
That camera you’re talking about should work just fine.
I also have an ESP32-S that came with the MB programmer and it works as expected.
Try it with that board.

Sara
