Hi,
I have been using my ESP32 DoIT board with Arduino 1.8.6 and Arduino 1.8.8 with success for quite a while. Yesterday I updated the Arduino software to 1.8.9 I also downloaded the latest ESP 32 library 1.2 and now I’m getting the fatal error about timeout (see below).
I have tried to hold the flash button as instructed in your trouble shooting manual but it isn’t helping. Have you seen this error with the latest Arduino IDE? I don’t know why I’m getting it now. I’m stuck. Thanks
Arduino: 1.8.9 (Windows 10), Board: “DOIT ESP32 DEVKIT V1, 80MHz, 115200, None”
Sketch uses 209968 bytes (16%) of program storage space. Maximum is 1310720 bytes. Global variables use 13572 bytes (4%) of dynamic memory, leaving 314108 bytes for local variables. Maximum is 327680 bytes. esptool.py v2.6 Serial port COM6 Connecting.... A fatal error occurred: Timed out waiting for packet header A fatal error occurred: Timed out waiting for packet header
Thanks for letting me know Gloria and I’m glad you figured it out.
Note: some DOIT ESP32 DEVKIT V1 boards have a capacitor missing that cause the board to failed to automatically enter in flashing mode.
I recommend following this guide to fix that issue permanently: [SOLVED] Failed to connect to ESP32: Timed out waiting for packet header
Let me know if you need further help!
Regards,
Rui
