The Serial Monitor says Connecting and get stuck printing series of dots.

As suggested in another question I change the SSID to remove “-” character from WiFi-D392 to WiFi D392.

Hi Douglas.
You need to enter your exact network credentials including “-” and capital letters.
The problem you’re facing is probably due to a typo in your credentials.
Also, if the ESP32 is very far away from your router, it can’t be able to connect if it doesn’t get the signal.
Let me know if you were able to solve your issue.
Regards,
Sara

Thanks for your reply.
I tried several SSIDs  with and without special characters spaces etc.
Searched Google and found suggestion to try another ESP32.
I uploaded the WiFiScan sketch and then copied the SSID from the Serial Monitor and pasted into the
Robot Car sketch. It Worked ! !
I have IP address and can now get on with the Robot car.

Also may help others.
Windows Defender SmartScreen would not allow  the latest Arduino.exe  to run.
Had to Turn Off Windows Defender Smartcreen. Followed these steps:
1. Click Windows > Settings > Update & security > Windows Defender. 2. In Windows Defender, click Turn on Windows Defender Antivirus. 3. Click the upper-left corner icon and then choose App & browser control, you will enter the Windows Defender SmartScreen settings. 4. Find the SmartScreen for Microsoft Edge, and choose Off.
