I just started the Home Automation Course and the ESP8266 is unknown
Everything installed correctly The Node MCU 1.0 (ESP-12E Module) shows up in the sketch. I’m using windows 7 and Arduino 1.8.9

Hello Paul, it looks like your ESP8266 board add-on is not installed properly.
IT says “Board nodemcuv2 (platform esp8266, package esp8266) is unknown”, it looks like it’s not actually finding the ESP8266 boards in the Arduino IDE. Can you remove the ESP8266 and re-install it?
Often that should solve your problem (restart your Arduino IDE too afterwards).
Thanks for your patience!
