After a rather lengthy hiatus, I have returned to the course, starting at the beginning. And of course – I have a problem. After uploading (with the boot button pushed down), I get “Leaving … Hard resetting via RTS pin…” – but it’s stuck there.

Hi.
That message is normal after uploading the code.
All you have to do, is pressing the ESP32 RST pin after you see that message and the code should start running.
