How do I mechanically put the ribbon cable of the OV2640 cam into the socket on the ESP32 board on a reliable way?

Hi.
Are you referring to the ESP32-CAM or to an ESP32 “regular” board?

Sara

I refer to the ESP32-CAM. The little cam module is packaged separately from the ESP_CAM board when you buy the ESP32-CAM-MB USB Programmer. I am not sure exactly how to do the connection of the small ribbon cable of the cam into the white connector on the board. A black strip which is a part of the white connector can be moved a bit.
Is it possible to also remove the connection later to fix a ribbon extensioncable between the cam and the board?

Hi.
You can connect and disconnect the camera ribbon.
On the camera there is a white section and a black section. Pull the black section and it will “open”. Then, connect the camera ribbon there, and close the black section again.
I had a video showing how to do that but I can’t find it at the moment. Additionally, I’m out of the office and I don’t have access to the components to make the video again.
If my description is a bit confusing, I recommend try to search for a video on youtube that shows how to do that.
Regards,
Sara

Thank you. In the meantime, I have been able to apply the camera via a YouTube clip on the boardconnector.
After following your website about the instructions how to get the board ready as a webserver with cam pics, I did not succeed. I have asked this in a separate question in this forum (Subject: No ESP32-CAM-MB pictures, only a white page).
