In Unit 4.2 of Mod 3, username and password are added, via HTTP Authentication, to a previous project (Unit 2.3).
I was thinking, instead, of adding it to the immediately preceding Unit 4.1?
I was wondering if Unit 2.3 was chosen because it was easier or simpler than Unit 4.1?
Would the use the Unit 4.1 be a reasonable approach or would it introduce too much difficulty?
I thought maybe the difference in protocols might have played a part in the decision of which previous project to use?
Thanks,
Ray
Hi.
We used that project because it was simpler, so it would be easier to “see” the parts for the authentication.
But, you can also add it to project 4.1. You can try it out, and let us know if you need any help.

Sara;
Sorry for the question. I was not carefully reading the 4.2 tutorial. It clearly says in the first paragraph that “this authentication method can be used for any web server built using the ESPAsysncWeb Server library.”
It even says it again on Page 488!
I need to read more carefully.
I’m going to use Unit 4.1 as the “base project” for the authentication addition. It’s much more interesting than 2.3!
Thanks again,
Ray
