I combined many examples from this site
First I rented a server in bluehost that was huge learning curve that worth every dime
I now have a site with a page (password protected) showing
1-present the output states of several boards and being able to controling their GPIOs
2-a table of the bme680 readings
3-charts of the bme 680 data including gas quality
4-motion sensor send the state to the php and the php
send to telegram so I get notification from telegram
5- I am trying to send data via telegram to the php in my site for quick disabling things (configuring the php ) almost there
I tried esp-now with the slave connected to the router as AP while 2 other boards communicate
with it . The communication is bidirectional. However the issue I faced was that if one board
drop for any reason while that board is outside the reach of the router, then it can not come
back again because it needs the chanel or maybe I was doing something wrong. So I have to bring it back to the vicinity of the router to pick up communication.
So I made the esp now slave board communicates with another board via wires and this set up was very reliable and I am happy with it
However I have hard concrete walls in my house and the esp-now signal has limitation.
I thought I may as well extend the coverage of the router than fill the house with esp-now
boards.
the esp-now is very great for open field or near by farm or something of that sort. But again I see many people have different conclusion and they are happy with esp now range, so I will continue trying.
from all this work I found my best option is the combination of having a host
service combined with telegram and extending the router coverage in the house because The example of control GPIOs from anywhere is a traesure of knowledge. It will make all my boards
as one dashboard
I highly appreciate Sara and Rui for such wounderful site and added value to the world.
God bless you
Omar
Hi Omar.
Thank you so much for your nice words.
I must congratule you because you did an awesome job applying our tutorials to a real word application. I’m really glad about that.
It can be a good idea trying to icnrease wi-fi signal of your router.
I would love to see a print screen of your dashboard, if you don’t mind sharing it, of course. It can be an inspiration for future projects and for other of our readers too.
Regards,
Sara
yes Sara I will present the dashboard and make a youtube as soon as I have something presentable.
the main thing that I know now is that I have clear pathforward for the set up from all the examples presented here after implementing different set ups.
thanks
