M5STACK and space available for a humidity sensor

Dear random nerds,
Does someone have experience with the M5STACK?
I would like to use the great housing plus display with ESP32 to simply add a humidity sensor.
Here I‘ve seen an outside connector, but instead I would like to place the sensor inside the existing housing.
I just need I2C, power and ground.
Does that work?

Happy coding weekend,
Loetluemmel!

DIN Base is one option for <10€, I just learned.
It has access to 2 ports, one I2C and offers prototype soldering pads.
