Dear Mr Rui,
I was trying to install Mosquitto MQTT broker on my RPI 4B board as I was following online Tutorial of ESP8266 & Node Red … As you have described, when I start mosquitto -v , it shows running local only mode using default config. so I added listener 1833 & allow_anonymous true at the end of mosquitto.conf file. then reboot…. But it still showing local only. Also when I configured in Node-red, it can’t find localhost. When I put port 1833, it becomes unidentified 1833 š .. I try control GPIO through MQTT and working fine since it is within the same machine. But I can’t connect to RPI board from ESP8266. Kindlyadvise what could be wrong other than I followed exactly your online tutotial about MQTT broker installation? I tried in both Raspbian 32 and 64 … it is the same.
Hi.
If you’ve enabled all that, I’m not sure what might be wrong. Did you restart your Raspberry Pi after installing the mosquitto?

Sara
Hi sara,,
YesI reboot the PI and tried a number of times and restart my PI every timeĀ changes made.
Like I said, I tried with Raspbian 32 bit, 64 bit, and with Desktop version in vmware. All give same result :<
That’s a very annoying problem.
I was playing with mosquitto a couple weeks ago, and also got problems with mosquitto even after all the required settings. But, in my case, it was after setting a username and password. It worked fine with the anonymous authentication.
Meanwhile, I’m out of the office and I’m unable to experiment with mosquitto at the moment. I’ll be out of the office for two more weeks.
I’ll try to fix the issue when I get back to the office.
I also suggest trying to post your issue in a more specific forum like this: https://forum.cedalo.com/
I’m sorry that I can’t help much. Meanwhile, let us know if you were able to solve your issue.
Regards,
Sara
