Now I have made a mess of it. I went to edit a Class file and opened with “text” and all .h and .cpp files have now been changed to text files. I have reinstalled Arduino2 with no change, what file or function controls the retrieval of class and library files?

Hi.
You need to provide more details.
If your Arduino installation is messed up, I recommend deleting all files and folders and starting with a new installation.
I recommend using the Arduino IDE 1.8.x legacy version.

Hi Sara.
I solved the problem with a Windows reset and thus got back the old settings of which application can open a file. I had succeeded in trying to open .h and .cpp with “text” files.
Anyway, thanks for your answer, but now I’m back on track.
