I pulled apart an old Nokia 1680 phone and extracted the camera module.

After a lot of Google searching I found a datasheet for a VX6953CB camera module made by ST Microelectrics. The 12 pads are labelled: VCAP, VANA, XSHUTO EXTCLK SCL, SDA, GND, CLKN CLKP VDIG,DATAN,DATAP.

Also found on Google that USB has  4 wires which are: GND, DATA+ DATA- AND 5 vOLTS.

I am not sure voltage for the camera module and how to connect to the USB cable.

Also need advice on software to operate the camera via USb.

Thanks.

Hello Douglas, I hope you are doing well and thanks for reaching out.

Unfortunately I don’t have any tutorials on that exact subject. I also think you won’t be able to make that camera work, it likely requires a specific interface or chip to interact with.

Regards,
Rui
