Hi,
I started following your course ESP32-CAM projects. On page 46 you show how to connect the FTDI programmer to the ESP-board (using the exact programmer I have) and with a schematic picture of the programmer. In this picture you show the GND-VCC etc connections and how to route those to the ESP32 board. I used these connections, but the programmer did not connect to the ESP board! It took me a lot of time to find out that the order is reversed! On page 60 you show again a picture of the programmer and there you can see the GND-VCC etc connections are in fact reversed compared to the ones on page 46! Please correct this on page 46! Because the silk indication is so small I couldn’t easily find this out, especially because the jumper “connector” does block the view.
Best regards,
Sjoerd w. Bijleveld

Hi.
I’m sorry about that.
Not all FTDI programmers have the same order of the pins. And the order of the fritzing part is different than ours. However, we have each wire labeled to make things a little bit more clear. We’ll try to add another note about that in the next eBook updated.
Yes, you are right that the letters on the silkscreen are very small and it can be difficult to read. If you have trouble reading the silkscreen, it may be useful to have a magnifying glass or a microscope for electronics like this one: https://makeradvisor.com/dm01-portable-digital-microscope-review/
Thanks for following our work.

Thanks for the quick response! I think it easily fixed by adjusting in your eBook the fritzing “picture” or just use your own picture… Because on all your other pictures/photos of the FTDI programmer the right order is quite clear.

Thanks for your suggestion.
I think we’ll have to draw our own picture to prevent further issues.
Thanks again.
I’ll mark this issue as resolved, if you need further help, you just need to open a new question in our forum.
Regards,
Sara
