Problem with Node-Red in Smart-Home ebook

Hi,
I’m learning Node-Red with the SmartHome ebook. Everything until page 90 was wonderful and no problem. The small test with the on/off of the led works fine. Now I tried to add the “switch” node. Page 91: the properties of the switch node shows “add new type to dashboard group” (in German) and not “Raspberry Pi Digital Outputs” and now I’m stuck. Can anyone help?
Regards, Hans.

Hi.
I think there was some sort of update on the Node-RED software, and now the Raspberry Pi GPIOs group is not created automatically. You need to create the group yourself.
Click on the pencil icon and create a new group. Then, inside that group create a new tab.
You can give whatever names you want to the tab and group.
Let me know if you can do it or if you need further help, I can post some screenshots.
Regards,
Sara

Hi Sara, sorry, but that does  not work. I can click on the pencil, get a new window, click on the pencil, get another window and so on. No idea what to enter in all these fields.

Hi.

First, click on the pencil icon.

Give a name to the Group (1) (for example Digital Outputs). Then, click on the pencil icon again (2).

Give a name to the tab (1), for example Raspberry Pi. Then, click Add (2).

Then, click Add again,

As you can see, now you have the same group and tab as in the ebook. Click Done.

And that’s it.

I hope this helps.
Regards,
Sara
