Hello,

I’ve an ultrasonic waterproof sensor that show always 0 cm distance.
I already used one before with only 4 pins. It works properly.
Then I got another one that has 6 holes, yet 4 pins only.
They are labeled as (RST – no pin | 5V | RX | TX | GND | SWIM – no pin)

Is it a version that has special protocol?

Any help?

All the best,

Hi.
I haven’t experimented with that sensor, but it seems to work as the popular HC-SR04.

Sometimes the issue is that people swap RX and TX by mistake. Can you double check it?

You can also try to increase the trigger pulse time.

Regards,
Sara

Dear Sara,

Thanks for reply,
I doubled check RX & TX; try to flip the. No thing change.

What I found is that the one that has two empty holes without pin, has a special protocol, I think ISP.

I tried to find code that works with it, yet I couldn’t.
I already ordered sane one with only 4 pins. Same with one I already dealt with before and work perfectly.

All the best,

Great.
I guess the other one really used a different protocol.
If everything is working as expected now, I’ll mark this issue as resolved.
If you need further help, you just need to open a new question in our forum.

Regards,
Sara
