Problems with Installing Silicon Labs CP2102 Driver

I cannot get my PC to assign a COM port to my ESP32 Devkit DOIT.
I have gone to the Silicon Labs website and downloaded the driver files
(Windows 10 Universal (v10.1.7)). The CP210xVCPInstaller_x64.exe runs fine,
and says the installation was a success.
However when I plug in the ESP32 nothing happens.
When I get a listing of all drivers on my system there is nothing about Silicon Labs CP2102.

Sorry, everyone. This turned out to be a “bad” USB to micro USB cable.
This cable worked fine with a ESP8266 development board but not with
a ESP32 development board. I have no idea how you identify a “good”
cable other than experimentally.  Greg Reynolds

Hello Greg, I don’t know why that happens either, I guess some USB cables don’t make a full proper connection and causes those issues. I’m glad you made it work!
