Hi.

I know PyCharm is a better IDE, but it’s not easy to get it working with MicroPython.
There isn’t an ideal IDE at the moment for MicroPython.

But, if you get a more advanced IDE, I recommend using VS Code + pymark plugin. I tested it, it works fine, and you can find all the instructions on the following link:

  •

If you want to get more feedback about his issue, I recommend creating a post in our Facebook group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/RandomNerdTutorials

Thanks Sara,
Finally a solution, still prefer PyCharm, over Visual Studio Code, but at lest it works…..
If I had read https://randomnerdtutorials.com/micropython-esp32-esp8266-vs-code-pymakr/ more fully I would have had it running in a hour or two. Contrast this with a couple weeks with PyCharm, with no success.

Hi Sara,
Thanks for your help and patience. Finally looks like I am up and running with VSC –
I an not a fan of Microsoft, but at least it works.
I am sad about PyCharm, I really liked the Error navigation.
Oh well…
Once again, thanks for your help.
