I followed the instructions in the home automation course which had an image of a 16GB SD Card. I tried this on a mac and it seems to have had the wrong file type despite my selecting FAT32. The act light on the board was flickering but it wouldn’t boot. I hooked up a terminal and keyboard and found an error relating to FAT32. Repeated the whole process on a PC with a 32 GB card and it worked! This is more of a “problem solved”, the raspberry site calls for 32GB so might be good to update the tutorial.
The other thing i learned was that i needed the mini hdmi connector to fit my display. I had a couple of older pi’s that had the standard size, and the pi 4B has mini hdmi.
OK – so i can now ssh into system name raspberrypi with a username: raspberrypi
onward!!!
Hi.
Thanks for letting us know.
probably, the newer versions of the operating system need more memory. I’ll add a note about that.
Regards.

Now that I look at the raspberry site they recommend 32 GB and nothing larger than 64GB. It seems that 32GB card is ideal. For some reason I had difficulties doing this on a Mac.
you may want to mention in the tutorial that a mini HDMI cable is required with pi 4B.
Node-red setup instructions worked perfectly so onto the next step!! I hope the ESP has libraries for DS18B20 temperature probe.
thanks again for the courseware … brand new area for me.
