Hi
I’m sure you’ve seen some of these inexpensive solar powered outdoor lights.
I’m wondering if they could be re-purposed as outddor LoRa Senders (ie, replace light with esp32/LoRa) ? What considerations would need to be made? I assume the battery discharge voltage and current would need to be within some specification to the board. Any thoughts as to what those specs are and any precautions?
Regards
Jack
Hi Jack.
I think you can use those solar panels without any problem.
Measure the output voltage and see if it can go through a TP4056 lithium battery charger module.
In the datasheet, it says the maximum input voltage is 8V. I think you are good to go with those solar panels (seem similar to the ones we have that output maximum 6V (take a look at module 11, Unit 4).
