Resistor Kits with thick legs

Hi,

Does anyone have any good links to where to buy decent resistor kits for use with Breadboard?

Most Resistor kits coming out of China seem to have really thin legs, which are not very easy to use with Breadboard.  The thin ones seem to be 28 AWG, which is 0.0126″ or 0.32mm.

Better ones are the old style of resistor which are 24 AWG, which is 0.02″ or 0.51mm

The Best ones for Breadboard would be 22 AWG, which is 0.025″ or 0.64mm

Also, the popular cheap resistors found in most kits are usually BLUE, which makes reading the colour code really difficult.  The older style resistors have a light brown/beige background colour and it is much easier to read these.

I have heard of a supplier in the USA, but unfortunately does not seem to ship to the UK.

Any help would be appreciated

Hi.

You can find resistors with thicker leads for breadboards at SparkFun. For example: https://www.sparkfun.com/products/14490 (this is for 330kOhm, but they have other values).

Also, other big stores specialized in electronics components like Mouser, DigiKey, or Farnell should have what you are looking for.

Regards,
Sara
