In course home auto $100.00, when I issue command sudo reboot the raspberry pi crashes. This has not been a one time event, it crashes every time.  I have to power off the RPI and the log in which is inconvenient. I get message “server unexpectedly closed session”

Hello, that’s completely normal and it’s the expected behavior. If your restar the board, PuTTY will loose the SSH connection and you’ll have to re-connect with it.
