Why can’t the ESP handle all the wireless functionality for this project? Why is the additional RF module required?

Hi Stewart, the 433MHz RF module is used to communicate with the outlets. In order to read the temperature and humidity, you only need the ESP8266 and the DHT11. The idea was after Module 8 – Unit 3 the circuit remains the same, but we keep adding more functionality to the ESP8266.
