Hello Rui,
I like a lot your training material. Thanks for writing this material in a more hands-on way than what we can find in books.
I tried to use Thingspeak for a ESP8266. Unfortunately I can’t achieve creating an account. the Service seems to be down since few weeks.
Are there up to your knowledge other equivalent service that I could use in place of Thingspeak?
Thanks for your advice
Best regards
Alain

Hello Alain, what do you mean it’s not working? Can you be more specific?

Basically, MathWorks.com acquired ThingSpeak.com. They now require you to have a MathWorks.com account to login into ThingSpeak.com, but it’s still working fine.

Can you please describe your exact problem in more detail? Thanks for your patience!

Rui

Hello Rui,
It says “Mathworks Account Unavailable – Technical Issue. Due to a temporary problem, Mathworks Account is unavailable. Try again Later….” This is the case since 2 weeks at least.
Thanks for your advises

Hello Alain, I’ve just tried to go through the process of creating a new account at Thinkspeak.com today and it worked just fine for me. Can you try again with a different email address?

  • Basically, you just need to go to this page: https://thingspeak.com/users/sign_up
  • Complete your details, but use a different email address
  • After clicking continue, go to your email address and click the verify email link
  • (go back to the page that was already open) Continue the registration process by entering a desired username and password

After that, you should have access to ThingSpeak.com. Does it work now?
Thanks for your patience.

Hi Rui,
I was trying to signup from Safari on a Mac. Mathworks advised me to reset Safari to clear the cookies. It did not worked. Using Firefox did not worked either.
So I signup from a PC and it did worked.
Thanks for the advises
Best regards
Alain
