Hi Rui,

there is no lessons and videos of this  SMART HOME with Raspberry Pi, ESP32, and ESP8266 ebook.
Have you planned to make this?

Best Regards,

Hi Joan.

At the moment, we don’t plan to create any videos.
It’s just the eBook.

If you’re not satisfied with the eBook, because you thought you would have more resources like video, you can ask for a refund: https://randomnerdtutorials.com/returns-and-refunds/

Hi Sara,
I am very happy with your publications and tutorials. Thanks for those!
I bought your new smart home tutorial and I instantly started to start it, because I have an actual application for it.
I still do not understand exactly how it should connect, but I found one point, that I imagine is a fault:
– the Node-RED connection is installed on Port 1880 (page 91)
– the mosquitto-broker should listen to Port 1883 (page 105)
I configured like you described and at restart mosquitto I received an error that the config file is wrong.
With ‘footwalk’ debugging I found out the port 1883 is not accepted. If i change to 1880 it works.
I guess, that port 1880 is the chain between Node-RED and mosquitto. In this case the port in page 105 is wrong and you should change it to 1880.

I am not shure if I am wrong and there is something else, but I tought it’s a good idea to bring a quick feedback.
I was lucky, because I had a already fully installed Raspi 4.
thank you for your work!
Regards Martin

Hi Martin.

I’m sorry for taking so long to get back to you. I missed your question.
There must be something wrong with your configuration file when you edit it. It should work fine with the 1883 port.
Make sure you edit all configurations properly.

Did you install Raspberry Pi OS 64-bit? I’m only asking because if you don’t, you won’t be able to install InfluxDB later on.

Regards,
Sara

Hi Roberto.
It’s everything OK with the resources. The other Modules don’t require you to download resources.

Sara
