So I was trying to follow the Webserver instructions but first tried to load a simple project to get my feet wet, what a mistake. 2 days later and several projects , nothing would work.
What I did was follow the instructions as to how to load VS into my Windows10 environment then integrate the Platform IO  which went pretty smoothly. I then took a simple project “Blink” and uploaded code to my Doiting D1 mini using Arduino Ide and it works perfectly. I tried that same code in VS / Platform IO and ift would not upload to the D1 mini. I did not find my particular board but after a bit found it as Doit 32 . No matter what I do I still cannot get that code from Platform to the D1 .Errors, don’t even know where to start,I think maybe it doesn’t know the port, don’t know how to verify that either. I went online and tried to follow a tutorial using blink with Platform and still no luck.I opened new project, picked a board, made a project name ,wrote the code in the src  section and am totally lost.

Hi Larry.
What is exaclty your board? Can you share a link to your board? Is it an ESP32 or ESP8266?
What errors do you get? Can you be a little more specific?
Regards,
Sara

So the board is a Doiting 12 f esp 32 , or so I thought it was. In all actuality it’s a 8266, so I believe that’s going to be my issue. Thank’s for looking at my post, we can just close this until I get a valid chipset.
